Origins

A crystal born from chaos

Long before modern science could explain it, civilisations across the world valued Quartz Crystal. Healing traditions in ancient China and India worked with crystal elixirs for protection, clarity and energetic balance.

The Ancient Greeks believed Quartz was water frozen by the gods, destined to remain solid forever. That belief lives on in the word we still use today: "crystal" comes from the Greek krystallos, meaning clear ice.

A crystal is matter in its most ordered form — atoms arranged in a repeating, three-dimensional pattern. A transition from chaos to perfection.

Physical Science

The science of structure and vibration

In 1669, the Danish scientist Nicolas Steno discovered that the angles between the faces of a Quartz Crystal are always the same, whatever its size or origin. The French mineralogist René-Just Haüy later showed that this order comes from a repeating inner structure — a finding that laid the foundations of modern crystallography.

Chemically, Quartz is pure silicon dioxide (SiO2): silicon and oxygen locked in a tightly ordered lattice. That lattice makes Quartz one of the most stable minerals on Earth, and gives it a remarkable property — it can turn pressure into electricity, and electricity into a precise, steady vibration.

◆ Effect

Piezoelectric effect

Discovered by Pierre and Jacques Curie in 1880: when Quartz is pressed, it generates a small electric charge across its faces.

◆ Precision

A perfect rhythm

Given an electric current, Quartz vibrates at an exact, unchanging frequency. That is why quartz oscillators keep time in watches, clocks and electronics.

◆ Stability

Pure and enduring

Quartz is hard (7 on the Mohs scale) and chemically stable, so a whole crystal stays intact — present, not dissolved — for the life of the product.

Silica & Your Skin

The mineral your skin already knows

Quartz is made of silica — the same element, silicon, that occurs naturally in your skin. Here is what the scientific literature says.

·

Silicon is a natural trace element in the body. It is stored in skin and connective tissue and is involved in the formation of collagen.1

·

The body's silicon stores decline with age.1

·

Silica-rich minerals and clays have been part of skincare since antiquity and are still used in modern dermocosmetics for hydration and skin care.2,3

·

Of the more than 4,000 known minerals, around thirty are used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products today.3,4

Energetic Tradition

The Universal Crystal and Master Healer

In crystal-healing traditions, Quartz holds a singular place. Known as the Universal Crystal and Master Healer, it is regarded as the great amplifier of energy — believed to attune to each person, absorbing, storing and releasing energy according to their needs.

Spiritually, Quartz is associated with clarity, focus and meditation, and is seen as a bridge between the physical world and deeper states of awareness. Some traditions describe crystals as spiritual libraries: once accessed, they are said to sharpen focus and elevate perception.

These are traditional and energetic beliefs, shared as part of the ritual and heritage of crystals — not scientific claims.

The ANAS Approach

Crystal-Infused at the source

ANAS places a real, whole piece of Quartz Crystal at the heart of every Crystal-Infused product. This is not symbolic — it is the foundation of our Crystal Technology.

We use only natural Quartz Crystals that are never synthetically treated. As part of our ritual, each crystal is individually cleansed and set with intention before it is placed in the formula.

Our water-based formulas are made with Thermo-Volcanic Water from the volcanic springs of Auvergne. In crystal tradition, water is the natural medium for a crystal's energy — the way a crystal elixir has been prepared for centuries.

The result is skincare that works on two levels: carefully chosen botanical actives that nourish the skin, and the ritual and intention of a real crystal in every use.

Energy Centres

Chakra alignment

In chakra tradition, Quartz Crystal is associated with four energy centres — together governing grounding, personal power, intuition and spiritual connection.
