Some brand names start as a strategy. Ours started as a feeling.

ANAS is the name of our company, and it is also my first name as the founder. When you see it on a bottle or a box, you are not just seeing a logo. You are seeing the story of how this brand was born, and what it is here to bring you: calm, comfort, and a little more light in daily life.

where the name comes from

ANAS is an Arabic name. It is short, made of four letters, and it carries a warm energy. In our culture, the name is connected to the idea of someone who brings ease, joy, and inner peace. Someone who helps soften fear and heaviness. Someone kind, comforting, present.

It is also a name that appears in biblical history through the name Annas, which for us added an extra layer of timelessness.

That meaning mattered to me long before it became a brand.

the moment we had to choose a name

When the project began and we started developing the first products, there was one big question waiting for us. What do we call this dream?

I knew what I wanted to build: a holistic care brand where every product contains a real crystal. A ritual for the skin, but also for the spirit. Something that feels luxurious and grounded. Something that supports your energy, your senses, and your daily rhythm.

But a name has to do more than sound good. It has to hold the mission.

So we did not choose the name alone.

the naming workshop

We organized a workshop and invited 21 people with completely different backgrounds. Marketers, yes, but also lawyers, journalists, designers, copywriters, people from healthcare, and people from the public sector.

The workshop leader guided the group through what makes a strong name, such as memorability, meaning, and how it looks and feels in design. Then we split into four groups.

I shared the dream, the concept, and the heart of the products. Then they started creating.

At the end, around ten names were presented. One of them was ANAS.

when i saw my own name on the wall

I walked out for a moment. When I came back, I saw it written down: ANAS. And I smiled.

My first reaction was honestly a little hesitant. I thought: this is not a celebrity brand. Using my own name felt bold.

But as they explained it, it made more and more sense. The group connected the name directly to what the products are meant to do: bring calm, support balance, and offer comfort through ritual and care. They felt the meaning of the name matched the feeling of the brand.

a name that travels across languages

Something else happened in that room that still feels special. As we explored the name, people noticed how it resonates across languages, in sound and association.

Sana in Spanish can be associated with healing. Ana in Turkish means mother, bringing the symbolism of mother earth. In Arabic, the sound and roots connect back to closeness and reassurance, and to the sense of being seen and supported.

It was as if the name was quietly saying the same thing in multiple cultures: softness, grounding, care.

why four letters mattered

Our designer made a practical point that became part of the magic: four letters are powerful. They are easy to remember. Easy to shape into a visual identity. Strong on packaging. Clear on a label. Elegant in a logo.

ANAS felt minimal, but full of meaning.

the vote, and the moment it became real

Then we voted. And the result was almost unanimous. ANAS won.

That was the moment the name stopped being just my first name, and became our shared decision. A name chosen by a room of people who saw the brand from every angle, and still felt that this was the one.

Today, ANAS stands for more than a founder story. It stands for what we want you to feel when you use our products.
